Snow Day!

So no joke, we had a snow day today! We went into work for 7:30am and all of a sudden it starts snowing. It hasn't snowed this low in Tasmania since once in the 80's and another time in the 60's. To me, it was just another day of winter but to the Tasmanian's it was the most crazy day ever. Everyone was taking selfies and videos it was great I couldn't stop laughing! It was like they had seen a volcano erupt or something. For some of them, it was even their first time ever seeing it snow. I felt that much closer to home and it really made me appreciate everything I have like all the winter sports, beautiful winter wonderland scenery, and snow days! I knew I would have to listen to, "You brought the snow with you from Canada!" for the rest of the day.

Brad and I took full opportunity to enjoy it to it's fullest. He's half a snow fein now so we were both ready to go anywhere. First, we drove to all of the little towns in the area Brad had always dreamed of there being snow in like the 'Shadbolt' Rd sign, a friends farm, and the Preston footy ground. Second, we built a snowman on the footy ground and I'd like to say I taught a grown up how it's done. I've never had anyone older help me since I was young, but when it snows here, everyone is willing to play in it! Also had to teach him what a snow angel was. Third, we helped move a massive tree off the road in 15 cm snow on the way up to Cradle Mt. Forth, made it up to Cradle Mt. (supposedly 4x wheel drive only, but we still made it) where there was 30cm of snow! Fifth, picked up a friendly hitch-hiker who was stranded because of the snow. Sixth, attempted to toboggan with hitch-hiker in the bottom cut out of a plastic drum. Seventh, considered making a real wooden toboggan and snowboard out of wood. Eighth, gave up everything because the snow had melted in all lower towns. My one day of real winter had finished!
